The full process is free, takes minutes to begin, and is open to students and teachers anywhere in the world.
Simple. Flexible. Guided by Faith.
Al Nurah Academy connects students and teachers of the Quraan. Whether you are a student beginning or continuing your memorization, or a Hafidh/Hafidha willing to guide a student, our system makes it simple to connect, schedule, and grow together.
How teachers get started

Apply as a Hafidh or Hafidha
Visit the teacher registration page and complete the application. You'll confirm that you have memorised the entire Quraan and provide details of Hifz completion, institution name.

Complete verification
Our team reviews your application and verifies your Hifz qualification before approval. Every teacher on the platform is verified — this is essential for student trust.

Set your weekly availability
Once approved, log in and set the days, times, and time zones you can teach in. You decide what fits your life. We'll only match you with students whose availability fits your slots.

Adopt a student and begin teaching
When a student fits your availability, you'll be notified. You then "adopt" that student — committing to mentor them throughout their memorisation or recitation journey. Lessons take place over Jitsi. You teach, they learn, and the platform stays out of your way — your relationship with your student is private.

How students get started

Register your free student account
Visit the student registration page and complete a short form with your name, email, age, and any prior Quraan study experience. We don't asks for no payment details. You'll set a password and confirm your email address.

Set your time zone
After registering, set your time zone and preferred lesson times (mornings, evenings, weekends) in your account settings. This is how the system pairs you with a teacher whose availability matches yours.

Get matched with a Hafidh teacher
Once your registration is complete, you join our matching queue. We pair students with verified Hafidh- or Hafidha-qualified teachers based on time-zone fit, availability, and your stated preferences. While in our first phase, students join a waitlist and are matched as teachers become available in their time zone. You'll receive an email the moment a teacher is matched to you.

Begin your one-to-one lessons
When you're matched, you and your teacher agree on a weekly lesson time. Each lesson runs over Jitsi, a secure browser-based video link — no app to install, no software to download. Open the link at the agreed time and your teacher will be there.
What You'll Need
- A stable internet connection (broadband or 4G/5G)
- A device with a working camera and microphone (phone, tablet, or computer)
- A modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)
- A quiet space for the lesson
- Your physical Quraan (Mushaf)
No apps to install. No software to pay for. Jitsi runs natively in the browser.
What happens in your first lesson
Your first lesson is a getting-to-know-you session, not a test. You and your teacher will:
- Introduce yourselves and discuss your Quraan background
- Set your learning goals (full Hifz, recitation only, Tajweed, or specific Surahs)
- Agree on a weekly lesson schedule that suits you both
- Decide where to begin — which Surah or Juz you’d like to start with.
There is no fixed curriculum. Every teacher and student designs the pace and approach together, guided by the teacher’s experience and the student’s goals.
FAQ
Do I need to commit to a fixed schedule?
Classes are Monday – Friday same time everyday unless between student and teacher they agree on another time due to unavailablity at the spcified agreed upon time
Can I pause or restart my lessons?
Yes. If you need a break for travel, exams, illness, or personal circumstances, you and your teacher can pause and resume. Long pauses should be communicated to us so we can re-pair if needed.
What if I don't get on with my teacher?
The teacher-student relationship is central to the experience, and not every match works perfectly. If your match isn’t right, contact us at Info@alnurahquraan.com and we’ll work to re-match you with a more suitable teacher.
Will my lesson be recorded?
No. Al Nurah Academy does not record, store, or monitor lessons. Your relationship with your teacher is private. If you and your teacher choose to record your own sessions for revision, that is a private arrangement between you.
What if I miss a lesson?
Notify your teacher in advance whenever possible. Occasional missed lessons happen and are easily rescheduled. Repeated missed lessons without notice may lead to the match being closed so your teacher can be paired with a more committed student.
Can I have more than one teacher or student?
Yes, teachers may have more than one student if they have the time to teach multiple students. They will need to register with different email accounts to do so.
